Chugach’s Year Of Giving

Throughout Chugach and our family of subsidiaries, our commitment to service is strengthened by the people who show up every day ready to make a difference at work and in the communities we call home. That’s the heart of our 12 Months of Giving program, an employee-driven initiative that spotlights and supports nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work in the places where we live and work.
Launched to reinforce our Core Behaviors—especially We Build Community—the program invites employees across Chugach and its subsidiaries to nominate organizations they care deeply about, and each month, based on these nominations, one nonprofit is selected to receive a $1,000 donation.
This year’s selections reflect an inspiring range of causes, from Veterans and emergency services to behavioral health, children’s health, hospice care, and food security. What ties them together is the personal connection behind each nomination. One employee shared that World Central Kitchen “shows up whenever and wherever there is the need,” noting their commitment to supporting local economies during times of crisis. Another highlighted Akeela as “one of the few organizations in Anchorage that consistently opens its doors to anyone seeking help, regardless of gender, financial situation, housing status, or background.”
A nomination for Ronald McDonald House spoke to the importance of compassion during a family medical emergency, recalling how the organization “gave me and my wife a place to stay” during a months-long ICU stay. Meanwhile, Expanding The Table was described as more than a meal program, it is an organization that builds relationships, offers dignity, and connects neighbors with critical resources that support long-term stability.
To every employee who took the time to submit a nomination: thank you. Your participation highlights the best of who we are as employees and as a company. Through the 12 Months of Giving program, we continue to live our values by building community, strengthening the places where we live and work, and striving to leave things better than we found them.
