Educational Programs

Chugach Heritage Foundation supports original shareholders and lineal descendants with a variety of scholarships, including academic (associate, bachelor’s, and graduate), vocational, and job-training scholarships.

Open Enrollment

Descendants of Chugach shareholders can now enroll to become part of the corporation and access future opportunities, benefits, and cultural connection.

Training & Development

Internships & Apprenticeships

On-the-job training programs provide real-world experience and skill-building. Successful candidates bring a strong work ethic and a commitment to learning as they build their careers within Chugach and beyond. Part-time internships for students and
full-time apprenticeships provide on-the-job training toward a defined career path.

Training Without Walls

A two-year leadership training program that develops essential soft skills, including communication, conflict resolution, time management, and presentation skills. Participants build lasting networks with other shareholders and descendants.

Alaska Native Executive
Leadership Program

A graduate-level certificate program through Alaska Pacific University that prepares future leaders for management roles in Alaska Native Corporations.

Chugach Native Professionals

Founded by Chugach shareholder and descendant employees, the Chugach Native Professionals group empowers members through continued education, increasing involvement, building confidence, fostering visionary ideas, and giving back to the corporation.

Shareholder Advisory Committee

A group of Chugach shareholders who advise the Board of Directors on important issues affecting the community and help promote the corporation’s mission and values.

NACA Emerging
Leaders Program

The Native American Contractors Association (NACA) facilitates this yearlong program is designed to cultivate future leaders within member companies by offering hands-on leadership workshops, policy education, and capstone projects, all aimed at strengthening advocacy skills, deepening understanding of federal policies impacting Native businesses, and expanding professional networks.

Career Planning

Get support with resume review, mock interviews, career goal planning, and aligning your skills with current opportunities.

Barrier to Employment Micro-Scholarships

Funding to remove barriers to work by covering essential tools, training, or required certifications, such as a commercial driver’s license or other industry credentials.

Job Opportunities

Chugach prioritizes hiring shareholders, descendants, and shareholder spouses who meet minimum qualifications.

Business Development

The Shareholder Business Assistance Program supports Chugach shareholders and descendants with funding to help start, grow, or strengthen their businesses. Eligible applicants may receive grants of up to $10,000 to support business development, expansion, equipment, or other qualifying needs.
