Chugach Government Solutions Announces 2026 Presidential Safety Award Winners
At Chugach, safety today secures tomorrow. This year’s Presidential Safety Award winners exemplify that promise. The 2026 honorees represent the highest standards of safety leadership, innovation, and teamwork across our organization. Their achievements underscore how a proactive, engaged safety culture protects people, strengthens operations, and ensures long‑term success.
Large Project Winner: Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, Chugach Logistics and Facility Services JV, LLC (CLFS)
The CLFS NAS Fallon team has set the benchmark for safety in large-scale operations, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to a mature, proactive safety culture. Their “Take 5” philosophy, combined with extensive employee training, strong leadership engagement, and active safety committee participation, has resulted in a DART rate of just 0.32, only one recordable injury in 2025, and more than 300,000 work hours without a recordable or lost-time injury. Their dedication to employee development, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement exemplifies Chugach’s mission to protect our people while delivering operational excellence.
Medium Project Winner: Picatinny Base Operations Support (BOS), Chugach Consolidated Solutions, LLC (CCSL)
The CCSL Picatinny BOS Project has excelled in one of the Army’s most dynamic and demanding operating environments. Through robust hazard assessments, innovative Good Catch reporting, and continuous employee training, the team achieved zero TCIR, DART, and lost-time incidents in 2025. Hundreds of Good Catches have driven ongoing improvements, making CCSL Picatinny a model for operational safety excellence.
Small Project Winner: Mt. St. Helens, Wolf Creek Federal Services, LLC (WCFS)
Operating alongside government personnel in a dynamic warehousing and logistics environment, the WCFS Mt. St. Helens team has built a proactive safety culture where every employee plays an active role in identifying hazards and preventing incidents. Their efforts produced zero OSHA recordable injuries, zero DART cases, zero lost-time injuries, and a TCIR of 0.00 while working more than 8,100 hours in 2025. With 100% employee participation in Good Catch/Near Miss reporting and full attendance for required safety training, WCFS Mt. St. Helens exemplifies the safety culture and operational excellence recognized by the President’s Safety Award.
Most Improved: Maxwell Gunter – Airfield Operations Team, Chugach Logistics and Facility Services JV, LLC (CLFS)
The Maxwell Gunter Airfield Operations Team is honored for its rapid response to a safety concern involving outdated flight publications. By implementing corrective actions and strengthening communication, the team eliminated the risk of conflicting flight information, demonstrating the proactive mindset and accountability that define a strong safety culture.
Safety Leader of the Year: Brent Cash, Chugach Intelligence Solutions, LLC
Brent Cash, CISL Mechanic is recognized as Safety Leader of the Year for identifying hazards and developing practical solutions that protect others. After two employees suffered hand injuries, Brent researched and tested improved cut-resistant gloves and championed the purchase of pressure washers, eliminating the primary hazard. Since these improvements, the team has experienced zero injuries during cooling tower cleaning operations. Brent’s initiative and dedication embody the very best of Chugach’s safety culture.
