Local Granite Supply for Remote & Coastal Infrastructure

A dependable Alaska-based source for coastal protection and critical infrastructure.

The Prince William Sound (PWS) Granite Quarry strengthens Chugach’s Arctic and remote-infrastructure capabilities by providing a reliable, Alaska-based source of armor stone, rip-rap, and construction aggregates critical for coastal protection, port development, industrial sites, and long-duration projects in harsh environments. Located adjacent to Whittier with deepwater access and direct rail and highway connectivity, the quarry supports efficient marine-enabled logistics and a more resilient regional supply chain, with dock infrastructure scheduled for completion in 2026.
