Last month Team Chugach pulled together to race against breast cancer by participating in the Liz Hurley 5K Ribbon Run. Team Chugach met our fundraising goal, contributing $1,000 toward software upgrades for screening mammography machines at the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. This upgraded technology means higher-resolution images, improved cancer detection and a likely decrease in the number of false positive examinations.
We are proud to support this important work and run in solidarity with our own breast cancer survivors including Rachael Harvey, who leads the team each year, and Chugach President Dan Fenza’s wife, Melissa Fenza. All of our runners did awesome, and in the spirit of friendly competition – our team’s top three racers were:
