Why Consider Open Enrollment?

Our Alaska Native shareholders are the backbone of our corporation, and their collective voice helps guide Chugach by electing Directors, running for the Board of Directors, and voting on resolutions. Currently, unless they are gifted or inherited, descendants, our next generation, do not share in these rights. With the youngest Original shareholder now 51 years old, a widening gap is eroding our voting base of shareholders. Bringing our descendants into the corporation through open enrollment is one way to fill this gap and invest in them, our next generation, with ownership in the decision-making process that allows for Chugach’s success.
